Montpeyroux, Languedoc — 1735

Volcanic force,
vinous finesse

01 — The Estate

A terroir
shaped by
fire and limestone

Our land at Montpeyroux, kept quiet since 1735, rests on rare soils shaped by ancient volcanic activity and set on a clay-limestone structure. Their poor water retention forces the vine to root deep: ripening slows, and aromatic compounds accumulate as they rarely can.

No insecticide, no chemical touches our soil; wild plants grow freely between the rows. We harvest only what the land offers, without artifice. Marawine carries the work of a father and a son, after a wine built to outlast us.

We use none.

02 — Collection

Three cuvées.
One intention.

All from the 2023 vintage, each a numbered reserve. Outside the appellation, on purpose: only grapes at all three ripenesses — aromatic, technological, phenolic — are kept.

03 — Savoir-faire

The year, in
three gestures

01

Entirely by hand

From pruning to picking, every operation is carried out entirely by hand, without exception. The harvest goes into small crates at first light, to keep the cool the night has given the fruit.

02

Parcel by parcel

The cellar sits inside the vineyard, so the fruit travels minutes rather than hours. Indigenous yeasts from the estate, gentle extraction, settling at 8–10 °C. No correctors, no aromatic yeasts.

03

Élevage

Sixteen months in oak barrel for the Mouton Larzac, ten months for the Florfina, stainless steel for the Pinky Punky. Malolactic in vat for the red; none at all on the white and the rosé.

04 — The Winegrower

One man,
three cuvées

Brice Company signs every bottle put up at la Métairie. Father and son work the same parcels with the same approach: intervene as little as possible, and only at the right moment.

A single touch of sulphur,
just enough to travel alive.

More risk. Immeasurably better.
